On this bike the bullmoose bars have significant rise and are made of welded aluminum. At the time Gary pushed hard to get Tange to produce the first unicrown fork blades, to the extent that a decal was placed on the fork legs to indicate that they were "unicrown." Also interesting is the bullmoose bar, which Tom Ritchey had previously designed and made popular. Fillet brazed frame construction was contracted out to established builders such as Jeffery Richman, Mark Nobilette, and Tom Teesdale. This bike is a prime example of a top level Competition model from the early days of the company.
